Preamble
Introduction & Acknowledgement of Our Existence
Welcome to the official digital platform of the Creative Workers Party (CWP), also known as The CWP, also known as that thing your designer friend keeps posting about on Threads.
By accessing this website, clicking any button, hovering over our logo, thinking about our manifesto or simply existing within a 50-metre radius of a screen displaying this page, you ("the User," or "Bro & Sis") agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy ("the Document," "This Thing," or "All of This").
Important Notice
This is a satirical political campaign by 403. fighting for the value of creative work in Malaysia. Any resemblance to actual legal documents is purely intentional to make you feel like this is serious. It is. Just not in the way lawyers mean.
Part I — Privacy Policy
Section 1
What Data We Collect
CWP collects the following data when you visit our platform:
1.1Your IP address, which tells us you are somewhere in Malaysia, which we already assumed.
1.2Your browser type, because we need to know if you're still using Internet Explorer, in which case we respectfully ask that you first fix that problem before joining our movement.
1.3The time and duration of your visit. If you spent less than 8 seconds on this page, we are personally offended.1
1.4Your general enthusiasm for creative work, as measured by whether or not you shared our manifesto or just screenshot-cropped it without credit. We know. We always know.
1.5The approximate weight of your soul's commitment to fighting Pandang Rendah culture. This is not technically possible to measure. We're working on it.
Section 2
How We Use Your Data
CWP shall use your data for the following legitimate purposes:
2.1To send you campaign updates, which you will say you want and then immediately forget you signed up for.
2.2To better understand our audience, which preliminary analysis suggests consists primarily of graphic designers who are tired, copywriters who are underpaid, and creative directors who have explained what a brand is approximately 4,000 times in their careers.
2.3To improve user experience on this website. If you found the website confusing, that is an art direction choice. You may not understand it yet.
2.4To compile anonymous statistics that will one day appear in a deck titled "The State of Creative Work in Malaysia" that everyone will agree with and nothing will change.2
2.5To remember you. Not in a surveillance way. In a kita ingat kau ada way.
Section 3
Third-Party Sharing
CWP does not sell your data to third parties. We are not that kind of party. We are a different kind of party — the kind with manifestos and merchandise, not cookies and quarterly reports.
However, we may share aggregated, anonymised data with:
3.1Fellow creative workers, for solidarity purposes.
3.2The general public, if we ever win anything, which is the point.
3.3Nobody else. That's it. That's the list.
Section 4
Cookies
This website uses cookies.3 By continuing to use this site, you consent to our use of cookies, the continued undervaluation of creative work in Malaysia, and the assumption that design "can be done cheaply" by someone's nephew who "just learned Canva."
You may disable cookies in your browser settings. You may also attempt to change the culture of undervaluing creative work by talking to your organisation's procurement committee. Both actions will require approximately the same level of effort and produce approximately the same result.
Section 5
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, or until creative workers are finally paid what they are worth, whichever comes first.
We anticipate this may take a while.
Part II — Terms & Conditions
Section 6
Use of This Website
You may use this website for the following permitted purposes:
6.1Reading our manifesto and feeling something.
6.2Sharing our content on social media with full credit, including the name 403. and a link to this website. Not cropped. Not reposted without attribution. We have made enough things for free.
6.3Purchasing merchandise, which is Buatan Manusia — made by human hands, not generated — and therefore worth every ringgit we are charging.
6.4Feeling righteous about being a creative worker.
6.5Forwarding this to that one client who once asked for "a small logo, shouldn't take long."
Section 7
Prohibited Activities
You may NOT use this website or its content to:
7.1Ask us to do something "quick" for free because it will be "good exposure." We have been exposed to enough things. We would like to be compensated now.
7.2Claim that AI can do what we do. AI cannot attend a three-hour brief meeting, absorb completely contradictory feedback, and produce something that somehow resolves it. We can. Charge accordingly.
7.3Use our manifesto in a pitch deck for a client without paying us. You know who you are.
7.4Suggest that our fees are "a bit high" when you have not reviewed the scope, the timeline, the revisions, the brand research, the typographic decisions, the internal approvals process, the final amendments, or the emotional labour involved in caring deeply about work that will ultimately be presented in Arial.4
7.5Be mean. This is a creative movement, not a comment section.
Section 8
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including but not limited to the manifesto, the wordmark, the amber, the wayang kulit references, the phrase "Fight For A Creativer Malaysia," and the general aesthetic of understated rage — is the intellectual property of 403. and Studio HDJ.
The word "Creativer" is grammatically incorrect. This is intentional. It is a creative choice. Please do not correct it. We will not be updating it. Thank you.
Reproduction of our materials without permission is prohibited except in the following circumstances:
8.1You are a creative worker sharing it in solidarity.
8.2You are a journalist covering the movement. Hello.
8.3You are a politician who has read our manifesto and would like to adopt our policies. In this case, please also pay your creative agency on time.
Section 9
Merchandise & Purchases
All merchandise sold through this platform is Buatan Manusia. It has been conceived, designed, and produced by actual human beings who went to school for this, stayed up late for this, and feel things about kerning.
Refunds may be requested within 14 days of purchase, provided that:
9.1The item is unworn, unwashed, and in original condition.
9.2You can provide proof of purchase.
9.3Your reason is not "I found a similar design cheaper somewhere else." That cheaper design was not made the same way. That is the whole point of this paragraph and also of this entire campaign.
Section 10
Disclaimer of Warranties
CWP makes no warranties, expressed or implied, that this campaign will result in:
10.1Actual seats in any parliament or state assembly, though we would not say no.
10.2Clients suddenly deciding to pay on time.
10.3The end of the phrase "can discount or not?"
10.4Anyone's uncle finally understanding what a Creative Director does.
We are, however, fairly confident it will make you feel less alone. That is not nothing. In fact, given current market conditions, that is a deliverable worth significantly more than what most clients are budgeting for it.
Section 11
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, CWP shall not be liable for:
11.1Any feelings of professional validation you experience upon reading our manifesto. We accept no responsibility for how seen you suddenly feel.
11.2Any heated arguments you start at the office about the value of design after visiting this website.
11.3The look on your client's face when you send them this link instead of a revised quotation.
11.4Acts of God, force majeure, or the Malaysian attitude that creativity is a passion and therefore should not require full commercial compensation.
Section 12
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from the use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts, or a very frank conversation over teh tarik, at our discretion.
We prefer the teh tarik route. Bring your brief.
Section 13
Amendments
CWP reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time, without notice, because that is how most of our clients treat our project scopes and we are learning from the best.
Continued use of this website following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. We trust you will read them. We know you won't. We respect the honesty of that, even if we cannot legally endorse it.
Section 14
Contact
For questions, concerns, collaboration requests, media enquiries, or anyone who wants to commission creative work at a fair rate, you may contact us through the website.
For questions about whether creative work deserves proper compensation: the answer is yes. That one we can answer without you writing in.
Final Clause — The One That Actually Matters
Creative workers built this country's visual identity, its advertising, its elections, its entertainment, its brands. We did it with our hands, our eyes, our hours, and our craft. We are not a commodity. We are not a line item to be negotiated down. We are not a Canva template.
Fight For A Creativer Malaysia.

Footnotes
1We do not actually track individual session durations in a way tied to identity. This is satire. Our actual analytics are embarrassingly basic.
2This has already happened approximately six times in the Malaysian creative industry. The deck gets shared on LinkedIn. People say "so true." A committee is formed. The committee produces a report. The report recommends another committee. Nothing changes. We are still here.
3The cookies are small files, not actual cookies. We wish they were actual cookies. That would significantly improve the user experience and also our morale.
4Arial. Not even Helvetica. Arial. We don't want to talk about it.
